Got Cancer? 3 Things Every Newly Diagnosed Cancer Patient Should Do
The doc has told you those 3 dreaded words. You know the ones, "you've got cancer." After the initial shock of the news and asking the question, "why me?" and some anger. It was time to get real about it and get to work. Here are some things I immediately implemented.

1. Cut out Sugar. All of it. Yes, I know, it’s hard. Really hard. Especially when you like sweets. But it will be so worth it. Your body will thank you. Not to mention, nothing like breaking a sugar habit. This goes for fruits too. Fruits won’t be forever. We just need to get your body back in to alignment.

2. Eat your Greens. Eat bright green, leafy veggies. Time to load up on kale, etc. I ate a lot of salads. I’ve got a great Green Drink recipe for you. Check it out below.

3. Get your fitness on. It’s critical that you are taking care of your body and get some fitness in now more than ever, before and after any surgical procedures.

This diagnosis doesn’t define you. There are so many people who have come out on the other side of this. Just remember, you are a fighter...a warrior and you’ve SO got this. This is just a part of your story...not your last chapter.

The Green Drink
  • kale 🥬 clean a couple leaves. You can use the whole leaf including the stalk or just the leaves.
  • Broccoli 🥦 or broccolini. Just a couple florets because broccoli has an intense flavor.
  • Carrot (1)
  • Celery (1)
  • 1/2 lemon (including rind) or you can use a whole lemon
  • Ice
  • Water
I use a VitaMix (you can use a juicer) and just throw it all in. You may have to add more water so that it’s not too thick. A word of warning, it will taste like grass. I can get two glasses out of this - I drink one in the morning and cover the second glass and put it in the fridge to drink before dinner. I’ve graduated to adding a TBSP of local honey and a couple drops of cinnamon bark vitality essential oil to help with the grassiness. 😁

Remember you're not alone in this journey. I've walked in your shoes. These are just a few things to get you started. There was SO much more I did and still do.

From one cancer warrior to another - you've got this!

Love,
Karie

Hi, I'm Karie Kapise

On 17 July, I was diagnosed with stage 4 appendiceal cancer. Not exactly what I wanted to hear but there it was. The next words out of my mouth were, "what do we do now?" I'm a fighter. I wasn't just going to take this bit of news lying down.

From the initial surgery through the third, I started doing something that most people would think was a little nuts - but I figured, what did I have to lose? This daily wellness regime is what I believe made everything change and surprised the doctors. This is my "not so secret" weapon that I believe is what built up my immune system and allowed my body to heal itself, as it was designed to do. Along with prayer, I don't go a single day without incorporating this into my life.

I have been disease free since March 2016 (YAY!!!). I am blessed. I have prayer warriors all over the world. And, I have my secret weapon.

I am a cancer warrior.

If you or someone you know is going through a health challenge, I want to help you get your immune system back on track. I'm on a mission to ensure people have the tools they need to do so.
